Prolotherapy

Phototherapy is a procedure that is done by injecting solutions such as Dextrose and Macraine into the connective tissues. This is done to generate an inflammatory response that cause thickening and strengthening of the connective tissues. Prolotherapy is indicated for several conditions. They are:

  1. Low back pain,
  2. Low back arthritis
  3. Ligamentous laxity
  4. Joint laxity
  5. Chronic tendonosis
  6. Acute and sub-acute connective tissue injuries.

Prolotherapy is widely used in any treatment that requires strengthening the connective tissues. It has been beneficial in producing pain relief in wrist, elbow, knee, shoulder, ankle and back. It has been used for more than 50 years and has seen huge success. However, it is not reimbursable by insurance companies but continues to be one of the most common and effective therapy in treating various pain related conditions.
